What if we all prayed? We have time!

Days Until the Election

The week is beginning, and your prayer life is continuing. Paul speaks to the Thessalonians church and encourages them to “pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5.17). This thought of “pray without ceasing” speaks of a continual prayer life; through the good and the bad.

Prayer is a Christians communication upon the field of battle. (Ephesians 6.18). Without the communication with our Father, it is difficult to maintain a strong relationship. As we share our desires and supplications with God, we are showing our dependance upon his every time we pray.

Life is hard. There are days which are easier than others, but we still have bumps along with way. When we open our communication with God, we grow our relationship.

The same may be said when we go through an election season, as we are in now. When we strengthen our prayer life, we strengthen our relationship with God. This aids us to put the kingdom of God before the kingdom of man.

As we are growing closer to Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd), let us continue to pray for our leaders, those in authority and our nation. For we know through God’s Word that, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” (Psalm 33.12)

While we know that the Psalmist is speaking of God’s chosen people, what would it be like it our nation turned to God; not as the chosen nation, but a nation seeking the face of God?

What would happen if the people of our nation looking to God each day?

What would happen if we filled our church buildings across our country with prayer leading up to our election?

What if Christians everywhere continually prayed for our nation, its leaders, and the ability to seek God’s face daily?

What if the citizens of the United States sought to lift the righteousness of God over the thoughts and ways of man?

The answer – BIG changes would happen.

Should we not be praying for our country and its leaders?

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2.1-4)

“To the Creator and Sustainer of all things, we thank you. Thank you for hearing our prayers and the past and thank You for listening to our words today. Lord, we are drawing closer to the day where future leaders of our country will be choosing. It is our prayer today, that You be with our nation and its citizens during this time. Lord, we know You are in control. Help us to remember to pray for our nation’s leaders. May we also pray for a double blessing of peace during these times. We need You. Allow us daily to seek Your Face. Thank you for blessing us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
