Pray for Unity in the Next 29 Days

Days Until the Election

“…pray without ceasing…”
(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

The week behind us and a fresh week ahead of us.

It is hard to believe another week has passed us by. Lord willing, the new week ahead of us will bring many opportunities to approach the Lord in prayer. As we have spoken before, prayer is a vital communication each Christian has with God. It is important that each Christian maintain that relationship with God.

To think that Jesus, the Son of God had a continual prayer life is an example to every believer today. Most may know the prayer Jesus teaches others called, “The Lord’s Prayer” but Jesus’ word in John 17 shows how he prayed for those who would believe on His name.

“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:20-26)

May each Christian have a continual prayer life.

May our prayers also include the prayers for our nation and its upcoming election.

Will you devote time this coming week to maintaining and practicing a continual prayer life?

Will part of your prayer life include the prayer for our nation?

Father, may we always look to you and speak to You concerning our thoughts, desires and our lives. May we also give You the praise and glory that only You deserve. You are the God of all creation.

Father, we need to speak to You daily. Help us to begin today and maintain a continual prayer life. Remind us to pray. Give us the time, the mind and the strength to pray to You.

Father, be with us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
