Under 20 Days until Election Day – Keep Praying!

Days Until the Election

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
(Psalms 46:10)

The psalmist sits down to pen the words of inspiration from God. In his psalm, he touches on the powerful protection God provides for His people. Despite the turmoil in the world, the psalmist knows the mighty power of God.

The psalmist knows the protection of God can calm his fears. Even though the earth is changing, God is still there.  God is amid the world. His workings are great and His dealings with mankind of righteous.

The psalmist is reminded of the power of God. He is reminded that God can make wars cease and can bring desolation when needed. All men should respect the power of God.

The psalmist knows that God is with His people. God has not forgotten His people, but He is watching over them. He knows that God will be their fortress. God will take care of them.

The psalmist, by inspiration, writes of the majestic power and protection of God to a people who were walking the earth.

Today, the words of the psalmist should bring delight to our lives. Just as God was protecting His people in the past, we know that God will protect us, and he will protect those who are to come. God is the protector of His people.

The psalmist’s words remind us that God needs to be respected. God should be respected by all men, not just His children. The nations need to be reminded that God is the Almighty. He is the creator of heavens and earth. We should revere the Almighty.

Many times, we need to stop and consider the protection and the power of God. We can easily take it for granted that God is all-powerful, but when we reflect on the awesomeness of His power and how history teaches that He changes lives, generations and nations, then we see the power of God in a different light.

Today, have you taken a moment to stop and see the power of God?

Have you considered His awesomeness?

While we draw closer to Election Day, may we not grow discouraged, but may we pray for God’s protection upon His people and the power to changes a nation.

As we know throughout Biblical history, God will not leave His people. God will be there, and many times in ways we do not understand.

We need to be reminded by the psalmist that God is there. He is our protector. We need to revere His power and we need to respect His awesomeness.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

 (Psalms 46:1-11)

Father, thank you for blessing us with today. Thank You for Your loving kindness toward us. To You we offer our praise and honor. May we always respect and honor you in our worship and in our lives.

Father, today may we find ourselves under your protection. May we draw close to You to find ourselves under Your refuge.

Father may our nation honor You and respect You. May our nation never forget its rich history, but may we add our honor of You in our future. May our nation find time to be still and know You.

It is with much thankfulness; we ask this prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen!
